“That’s it, Pete!” Patrick screamed. “Get all your stuff and just f*cking go! We’re through!”

They had just had another fight. Living together sure put stress on their relationship.

“Fine then!” Pete roared back.

He stomped up the stairs and Patrick had a chance to calm down. He walked up the stairs, sure that he would find his boyfriend lying on the bed, sulking. He was surprised when he went into their bedroom to find Pete biting back tears, throwing clothes into a bag.

‘No!’ Patrick thought and he ran over to him.

“Pete,” he whispered timidly.

“Don’t worry Patrick,” Pete said turning around. “Just give me a minute. Then I’m gone for good.”

Patrick kissed him, hard. He pulled back slightly, to bury his face in Pete’s collar.

“Don’t go,” he whimpered.

He looked up at Pete and saw tears gleaming in his eyes.

“I have to, Trick,” he said. “Our relationship is based on these fights lately. I just can’t do this.”

Then he picked up his clothes and turned toward Patrick one more time.

“I love you. I always will. But we can’t do this. It… It’s just not right.”

Usually, Patrick would have laughed at this speech, but right now… was Pete dumping him?

“Pete, please,” Patrick said. “I need you.”

Pete kissed him softly before leaning into his ear and whispering, “Goodbye, Trick.”

Then he turned around, and walked out the door.
